Local SEO and lead tracking

The checklist I use before calling a website ready for leads.

Ranking is useful only if the visitor becomes a real call, booking, quote request, or sale. This checklist keeps the website, Google Business Profile, reviews, forms, and tracking pointed at that outcome.

Google Business Profile

  • Primary category, services, hours, phone, website, and service area are current.
  • Photos show the real business, owner, team, work, location, or finished results.
  • Posts, offers, and Q&A answer the questions customers ask before calling.
  • Reviews are requested consistently and responded to in plain language.

Website trust and local SEO

  • The homepage shows who runs the business, what is offered, where it serves, and how to contact it.
  • Main services have dedicated pages with useful detail, not thin keyword blocks.
  • City pages connect to services, reviews, work examples, and real contact paths.
  • Sitemap, robots, canonical URLs, redirects, and schema match visible page content.

Lead capture and tracking

  • Forms submit fast, store the lead, and show a useful confirmation.
  • Phone clicks, form submissions, source pages, and campaign links are tracked.
  • The business owner can see where each lead came from.
  • Email delivery is monitored so a broken provider does not silently kill leads.

Proof and authority

  • Reviews are visible on the site and match what the business publicly claims.
  • Case studies explain the problem, build, conversion path, and outcome.
  • Client or partner links point back to the correct domain when appropriate.
  • Old brands, duplicate pages, and dead assets are removed or redirected cleanly.

What I look for first

The leaks usually show up before the traffic problem.

If the form is slow, the phone number is hidden, the reviews are not visible, or the page does not explain the offer, more traffic will just expose the same weak path to more people.
